Another day, another slew of E3 2013 game trailers. Here we can see both of the Call Of Duty: Ghosts gameplay videos, ‘Into The Deep’ and ‘No Man’s Land’, that featured in the ‘All Access Gameplay Preview’, except without the 20 minutes of tedious plastic presenters waffle. The Remember Me Neo Paris 2084 Trailer is a lovely motion graphics piece showing the differences between modern day Paris and the imagined futuristic version of the game setting. The Watch Dogs – “Exposed” and Thief 4 trailers are beautifully rendered cinematics. Finally the Wolfenstein: The New Order trailer is … erm, well a bit odd, but worth a watch. Read on to see all six videos.

GamesHQMedia has posted a six-minute gameplay video of Watch Dogs, the Ubisoft action game that utilises a smart, in-game user interface to manipulate the near-future Chicago environment. It’s fascinating to see the GUI so deeply integrated into the 3D environment.

In Watch Dogs, players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

Bungie have announced that they are developing Destiny for PS4 and PS3 as well as releasing two videos featuring the first gameplay footage and some striking new concept art to add to the previously leaked material. EA have launched a trailer for Medal Of Honor Warfighter that is, in places, simply stunning. So much so that it’s difficult to believe that it is actual gameplay footage. As with the recent Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes trailer, the foreground characters are incredibly detailed and beautifully animated, with lighting effects and dusty atmospheres masking the less detailed background environments. Definitely worth a watch.

2K Games have given us a new take on the gameplay trailer with XCOM: Enemy Unknown. It’s an interactive YouTube video that allows viewers to ‘play’ the game by clicking the on-screen boxes to make game choices. It kind of reminds me of the Choose your own adventure books I read as a nipper, except with XCOM you can blow an alien’s brainstem across the street. Nice. Definitely worth a look, especially for the lovely interface in the rain effects.

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, released way back in 1997, was a truly beautiful, imaginative and fun game. There is a great ‘Behind The Classics’ article about it over on the Playstation blog. Now though, we have a HD remake to look forward to and, to my great relief, it looks as though they have made a great job of converting all those lovely parallax scrolling environments into HD 3D. Especially considering these are Pre-Alpha visuals. Very tasty!

Kojima Productions have released a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and it’s every bit as epic, cinematic and self-indulgent as you would expect. It appears Hideo Kojima has been taking lighting tips from JJ Abrams as lens flares adorn the entire 10 minute video. The trailer opens with some impressive weather effects, including falling rain and mist, as well as the realistic clothing movements in the gusts of wind. The moody lighting, lens blurs and bokeh effects all contribute to the cinematic quality. All the more impressive if this really is all achievable on the PS3 using their much vaunted Fox Engine.

Naughty Dog have released a 15 minute gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated Last Of Us. As you would expect from the creators of the Uncharted series, it look amazing. Beautiful environments, lighting and character animation combine to offer a truly immersive experience. The only downside being that it’s another PS3 exclusive. I really am going to have to get one.
