Welcome to the Art Of The Game Blog for art and design inspiration from the videogame industry.

We’re back, after a brief hiatus, with an array of ‘Behind The Scenes’ videos. I must admit that I sometimes prefer the ‘making of’ on a special edition Blu Ray to the actual film itself, and it’s no different with games. It’s great to see the array of different talents that are ruthlessly exploited employed together to create a ‘triple A’ game.

First up we have Halo 4. This is a brief montage of behind the scene clips.

For more in depth videos check out the Making Of Halo 4 and Making of Halo 4 – Part 2 : The Prometheans.

Next we have Forza Horizons. The new open world version of the game does seem to borrow the racing festival theme somewhat, from Motorstorm and Dirt, but it does look stunning.

Finally we have the latest movie franchise to receive the Lego treatment; Lord Of The Rings. The spectacular scenery and characters imagined by Tolkien, via the visionary talents of Peter Jackson, recreated as Lego are as impressive as ever. The addition of real dialogue in place of the comedic grunting is definitely a welcome bonus.
