Strange And Wonderful Mirrored Video Game Cover Art – Imgur user Fryeguy43 has uploaded a gallery of twisted game art flip-takes. It’s the strange imagery that’s produced by taking a familiar piece of cover art, splitting it in half and duplicating one side on the other.

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate is a 2.5D Metroid-style exploration game for handheld devices created by Armature Studio and WB Games. It features comic strip style motion graphics which were animated from the cinematic illustrations created by Calum Alexander Watt

These were all generated in Sketchbook Pro, then each element grouped up to be later animated and given some much needed VOOOM by the good folk at Armature studio.

Fan recreates Earthbound with HD visuals – Destructoid – 3D artist Christopher Behr has spent the better part of a year giving Earthbound fans an idea of what a modern day version of the game could look like. Using his skills, he made a recreation of Onett, the hometown for Earthbound/Mother’s main character.

Anatomy of Gadgets | Trend Bump – Mads Peitersen is a multimedia artist in Denmark has created a series of illustrations feature popular electronics such as the PS3 and a game controller, dissected to reveal human-like body parts such as bones and livers.

If A Batman Game Looked Like This, I Would Never Stop Playing http://bit.ly/1f9cxrd – These images are the work of Callum Alexander Watt for Batman: Arkham Origins: Blackgate, a great handheld game from earlier this year. If you’ve played the game, you’ll know that this art was “animated” in a very simple style for cutscenes, but wouldn’t playing the entire game like this be the best?

Rayman Legends had a fun and fresh trailer for E3 featuring plenty of visual FX. Toufik Mekbel, a France based Visual effects designer, worked on that trailer and provided some breakdowns of his FX work.

3D Studio Max was used to create the effects, utilising several plugins. The frog slobber was created with Frost and Cloth, Pflow was used for the critter horder, sparks & stardust, and also used with Fumefx to create the smoke trails.
